PBL Experience: I am a tenderfoot. I am heading back to the classroom after a district wide consultation position. I have observed the works and done much research on the topic, but have never experienced it myself. I am looking forward to the rewarding results within my own classroom.

Here you will find my personal reflections on PBL Camp. Read at will, it is my attempt to process everything.

I missed the kick off yesterday. Summer vacation is a bit challenging at times around my house. I have to tread lightly to balance my desires to "work" as well as spend time with my family. Yesterday, my family won. SMILE! I was pleased to see that PBL Camp posted the PPT so that I could still participate. Today, I took some time to look through the PPT, and complete my tasks on the PBL Wiki. Fortunately, I am already an avid user of both Delicious and Twitter, and familiar with Wikis, so it was nice that I am not feeling completely out of my element! I am very excited for the opportunity to do some professional development for myself this summer, especially the flexibility. I am also looking forward to the process, meeting other educators, expanding my PLN and of course the final project! I don't always have the access to such great collaborative processes, and starting a new position this fall, I really don't know what to expect from my co-workers. This is a great way to spend some time planning with a specific goal in mind. Since I am a "tenderfoot," I hope to learn some HOW TO organization and thought processes that go into creating a PBL unit to expand my teaching skills and open doors for my students to greater understanding and community accountability.

Hi Michelle,
Glad to hear that you're already familiar with these tools, and wonderful to see you using your wiki to reflect. Perfect way to get started with PBL planning.
I've loved watching the conversations unfold within the Edutopia groups. What a great community!
Best,
Suzie
